Verizon Wireless has issued a press release announcing the official release date of May 26th for the LG Revolution Android smartphone. We knew this date was a strong possibility, but it’s good to hear it directly from Big Red. The handset will cost $249.99 with a new two year agreement and will be available online, as well as in stores, on launch.

The 4G LTE-enabled Revolution has a 4.3″ WVGA display, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, HDMI-out/SmartShare capabilities, and it will run Android 2.2 out of the box. Movie enthusiasts will be happy to hear that the Revolution will come preloaded with a copy of the official Netflix app for Android. Revolution by LG will be available in Verizon Wireless Communication Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com for $249.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
Revolution customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access. An unlimited data package is available for $29.99 for monthly access. The Mobile Hotspot feature will be included for a limited time at no additional charge.
