LG Optimus U & LG Apex Available - Provided By US Cellular


Two Android-powered LG smartphones from US Cellular — LG Optimus U and LG Apex — are now available for the prepaid users, as well. Previously, the CDMA-based carrier required contract signing, but that’s no longer the case. The Optimus U, which as you may know is US Cellular’s version of the Optimus One, is now available for $199.99, whereas the Apex could be yours for $249.99.

Alongside this change, the carrier also unveiled new prepaid plans that go with these two devices. For instance, $30 gets you unlimited texts and 200 minutes each month; $50 – unlimited voice and texts; $60 – 450 voice minutes, unlimited texts and 2 GB of data; and $70 – unlimited talk and texts, and 2 GB of data per month.

Specs wise, the LG Optimus U is an all-touchscreen device with a 3.2-inch HVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, 600MHz processor, GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a memory card slot. On the other hand, the Apex comes with a full side-sliding keyboard, 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen, the same 3.2-megapixel camera and 3G/Wi-Fi connectivity, and 100MB of internal storage which is further expandable with microSD cards…
